Super Bowl Ads

With a captive audience of over 110 million viewers during Super Bowl XLV, businesses lined up to pay the $100,000 per second, fees for their commercials. The average 30 second commercial cost $3.1 million just for the air time. Click on the title and go to hulu.com to see all of the commercials that aired during the Super Bowl. Pick your 3 favorites, and give me the one that was most likely to cause you to buy their product.

The Super Bowl's ridiculous pricing for the commercials always attracts major companies in hopes of selling their product. The three ads that I found to be the most interesting was the Doritos house sitting, the super bowl celebration, and the Pepsi cooler commercial. The main reason that I find interest in these commercials is because of humor. However, the only one that I would probably go for was the Doritos because I found that to be funny.

I loved plently of the commercials, but I would have to say Doritos The Best Part, Bridgestone Carma and Pepsi Love Hurts are the best three. The Doritos commercial wins for actually persuading me to buy the product because the chips look quite tasty!

The good thing about the super bowl is that even if you don't like football, a lot of people will tune in just to see what new catchy commercials companies have come up with. My top three favorite commercials were the camaro, the bud light with the dogs, and the monkeys with careerbulder.com. Although these were my favorite three, I would not buy any of those products so I'd say the commercial about the new movie Limitless was the most appealing with it's awesome storyline, wise scene selection, and catchy music that flowed well with the 30 second clip.

My favorite commercials were Doritos: House Sitting, Coca-Cola: Border, and the Bud light: Dog Sitter because and I would buy each of these products because Doritos and Coca-Cola are good and we already have Bud Light at home.

My three favorite commercials were the Doritos,Pepsi Love Hurts, and Cadillac commercial. I think the Cadillac commercial is this winner in my opinion because I am personally am fan of this dealership and the fact that the Cadillac can withstand anything!...Cadillac is the way to go and I would persuade my parents to buy this dream car for me.

My top three commercials have to be the Living Social (with the cross-dressing guy), the Pirates of the Caribbean preview, and the Doritos [best part] one.

The funniest one was the Doritos commercial, though. I couldn't stop laughing. He just grabbed the guy's thumb. Unacceptably hilarious. Hahahaha. I'd buy a bag of Doritos if I thought they were THAT good.

The three commercials i liked the best are the Pepsi:Love hurts,
Volkswagen: The Force, and Audi: Release the hounds because they are humorous and cute.
I would buy the coke based off of the Coca-Cola: Border commercial because it seems so appealing that they are willing to due to much to get the coke. Good advertising!

Andrew Philpott said...

My favorites were: "release the hounds" by Audi, "reply all" by Bridgestone and "Anachronistic City" from Hyundai. Out of those three, the Reply all commercial from Bridgestone was the most influential to my buying decisions as it was the only one that was within my price range. The rest were certainly effective, just directed at a different demographic (ie: able to buy cars).

My three favorite commercials were the little kid as Darth Vader, the Doritos one where he stole someones pants, and the Budlight one where all the dogs were serving the people. However, I'd only go for doritos because I can't afford a car and I can't buy alcohol.

Honestly, the commercials this year disappointed me. However, I did find a few favorites amidst the disappointing commercials. They were: Doritos-Licking, "sniffing" best part of Doritos, Pepsi-Love Hurts, and Best Buy-Ozzie Osbourne asks, "What's a Bieber?" None of the commercials would lead me to buy their products because none of the products' qualities appealed to me, but the Best Buy commercial was my favorite because I found it really funny that the guy called Bieber a girl.

you have got like the dark vedor, costumed kid. he was the one that caught my attention the most. even though the Doritos commercial is unbelievable, it was pretty funny. i really didn't like the super bawl commercial. the snickers bar was not that great either. The Pepsi commercial was great, who wouldn't want a zero calorie Pepsi. do i even have to talk about the jack sparrow (pirates of the Caribbean), i loved it. Most of the commercials were great for the ads in the given time.

The Super Bowl commericals are very entertaining and changes the mood of the game. The Three that i like the best are the Pepsi Love Hurts, The Doritos commercial, and the Coca-Cola one. I think the best one is the Doritos commercials cause it makes me want to get some and eat it while watching the game

3 favorites would have to be Doritos Apartment watching, some hotel commercial where the baby hits the window, and "The Force" Volkswagen because let's face it, that kid was amazing. In all actuality, no commercial made we want to buy anything. I just want to watch the commercial over and over.

My favorite commercials were the Teleflora commercial where the guy's "heart" tells him to send a valentine's message about the girls unreal rack, Best Buy: Ozzy vs. Bieber, and the Dorito's: The Best Part. Although I probably wouldn't use any of the products that were advertised, I give props to the companies for being successful enough to spend that much on a 30 second commercial and for being some of the only remotely funny advertisements shown this year.

There are always commercials that continue to be hilarious every year. I have never seen a bad Coca Cola commercial and this year's one with the dragon was creative and entertaining. I thought it was the preview for a new Dreamworks movie. The Doritos commercials are always funny but i am now scared to eat Doritos. E trade always rocks. That baby rocks.

My three favorite commercials were the super bowl commercial, Doritos and the best one was the Ozzy-Justin where Ozzy says Whats a Beiber? and the other person says "I dont know but looks like a girl!" but none of these commercials lead me to buy any products from them.

I really love the super bowl especially the commercials. The #1 commercial i really liked was the Bridgestone Tire commercial. #2 the Budweiser Advertisement and then the Doritos commercials. One of the main reasons I think people enjoy the commercials are because they are so funny.

The Super Bowl Commercials this year were mostly terrible. I don't even watch the game. My family rates the commercials. I thought the Doritos The Best Part, "The Force" Volkswagon, and the car commercial with Eminem because it played off the pride for your city deal. The Forces wins though, that kid was bad a.

I really enjoyed the commercials this year! My three favorite commercials were the Pepsi: Love hurts, Audi: Release the Hounds, and BMW: Diesel. Although I would never buy Pepsi, I thought the commercial was very funny and I laughed for quite a while. Audi had a really great commercial, and I think they really made their point, and aroused my interest in a brand I have never really given a second thought. As for BMW, it has always been a favorite of mine, and the image of that sleek car coming through after the haze of dirty smoke really jumped out at me. I loved it!

My favorites were the kid as Darth Vader, The Doritos bringing the man back alive, and the Bud Light Ad with the super smart doggies. Nothing really made me want to by it but the Doritos did tempt me a bit. Most of all I just wanted to watch the Darth Vader boy again and again.

The Doritos: House Sitting, Volkswagen: The Force, and the Chevrolet: Silverado TVC Tommy are my favorites. All of these were humorous and interesting. Personally, I would only buy Doritos as a result of these commercials, also because I'm not looking for a new car.

My top 3 favorites are the Doritos commercial, the Volkswagen with the mini Darth Vader, and the Pepsi Love Hurts one. I especially loved the Doritos commercial because it made me really hungry after watching the commercial. In terms of funniest though, I gotta give it to the Darth Vader one. That kid was just so hilarious.

Without a doubt, my favorite commercial was the Pepsi Max commercial with the couple at a restaurant. It struck a perfect chord and ALMOST persuaded me to try Pepsi Max... except for my love of Dr. Pepper. Chrysler had a brilliant commercial with Eminem, but because I can't exactly buy a car by myself, had little impact on my buying decisions. Without a doubt, Doritos won me back with the commercial about house sitting. If chips could do that, I'd eat them for every meal.

My three favorite commercials are Pepsi: Love hurts, Doritos: House Sitting, Best Buy: Ozzy vs. Bieber. I love how they said Justin Bieber looks like a girl in the commercial, I actually laughed for a while after watching that commercial. I don't drink soda so I'm not going to buy Pepsi. I think the only commercial that persuades me to buy their products is Doritos because that is the only thing i can afford as of now

One of the main reasons millions of Americans tune in to watch the Super Bowl every year is because of the hilarious commercials. Although this was one of the best year for Super Bowl commercials, my favorites were Volkswagen:The force, Pepsi:Love Hurts, and Skechers: Kim Kardashian: Hello Skechers. Out of all of the commercials, Volkswagen:The force had the greatest impact on me because it made me realize how much I want to impress my two children.

Being a guy I love football even if my Dallas Cowboys are not playing for the national title. It was nice to see the Super Bowl being hosted at the best stadium on earth though. Another thing I look forward too besides the football like everyone else is the commercials. I'd have to say some of them really spark my interest and make me life and often times become the most memorable for the year. After revisiting some of them I'd have to say my top three in this order include:
1) The Pepsi Max commercial. "Love Hurts" Of course I fell out laughing when I noticed how the couple ran after hitting the lady. The way they ran reminded me of some of the foolishness members in my family have done. My second one would have to be The Doritos commercial because I love the chips and spilling a family members ashes resulting in them coming alive was hilarious to me. Finally, the commercial for the new Passat car was quite creative to me. It had good dry humor to it. I'd have to say the one that persuaded me to buy the product would be the commercial for the Passat car. Simply because I've always liked the car and that was a pretty creative commercial.

Most of the commercials were witty and entertaining, but to tell the truth none of these commercials make me want to physically buy the product. To me it seems as though advertising has become an entertainment service more than advertising. But either way the Darth Vader commercial was definitely my favorite!

There were a lot of good commercials, but some of them were not worth the money. They really are too expensive. My favorites are Pepsi First Date, Doritos House Sitting, and Audi Release the Hounds. The Pepsi commercial was by far the funniest. It has a lot of truth to it. I've always liked Pepsi and since that commercial I've drank it more than usual.

The Super Bowl is the symbol of America. Why not make companies pay $3.1 million for 30 seconds of air time? That way we don't see terrible annoying Everest commercials and see the best of the best!! My top 3 were bud light dog, Volkswagen the force, and the Kim Kardashian skechers one. I already bought 4 pairs of the skechers "shape ups," however Kim Kardashian has yet to call me back or respond to my 173 e-mails.

Superbowl commercials are different than others because you don't want them to end. I loved the Bridgestone:Reply All, Etrade:Tailor, and Doritos: The Best Part. The Bridgestone commercial was hilarious. However, the one I think that would most likely sell is the Transformers commercial. I am so excited for the movie and the commercial makes any Transformer fan want to buy a ticket right away.

I liked many of the commercials but the one that made me laugh the most was the Doritos house sitting commercial. The other Dorito commercials were really funny also. I also really liked the Snickers commercial and the pepsi can thrower. I most probably would buy Doritos, Pepsi, and Coke after watching the commercials.

Even though the super bowl commercials are hilarious, i dont think its worth spending $3.1 million for a 30 sec ad. There was some memorable ones in there such as the doritos and the Volkswagon commercial. I would only be able to buy the doritos and pepsi because i wont be able to afford anything else.

Ricky Haines said...

I thought the Volkwagen Force ad, the Snickers commercial, and the Doritos The Best Part Ad. I would actually have to buy the Snickers, but that may just be because I really like Snickers. Most all of the movie commercials were interesting as well.

The VW commercial was definitely a fun one for me, I enjoyed how that commercial played out. The Doritos commercial was also a very funny one. I also enjoy most of the car commercials, such as the audi one simply because I am a fan of them in general. It is so interesting how much is put into the superbowl commercials, and yet, I ask myself if they directly really increase sales to merit such an expense.

John Choate said...

Most likely to buy: Audi. Its the car I've wanted to buy for my first official "on my own" car once I get a job. But the commercial didn't have to convince me of that!

My three favorite commercials were Doritos: The Best Part, Bridgestone: Reply All, and Pepsi: First Date. The product that I would most likely buy is Doritos because the commercial reminds me how good they taste. I liked the Pepsi commercial but I prefer Coke.

Ramona Yu said...

My favorite three commercial are the Volkswagen: The Force, the Doritos one about reviving the grandpa, and Anachronistic City: Hyundai. Out of all three commercials, the Volkswagen one appealed to me the most because of the cute little kid, but I don't think I was persuaded enough to actually feel obliged to go buy the product. Overall, the commercials were just funny entertainment breaks, but failed to successfully lure me to buy anything.

The top 3 Super Bowl commercials I like were the Doritos commerical when the guy sucked the fingers, the pepsi commercial "What's a beiber?", and the darth Vader kid commercial. However, the best one out of 3, I say the Doritos commercial.

Every year I look forward to the new and usually hilarious ads during the Superbowl. I expect them all to be worth my time because of the high price paid for their air time. This year my three favorite commercials were Doritos, Volkswagon, and Bud Light. I feel the most persuading commerical was the Doritos commercial only because of how odd and strange, yet hilarious it was. It stood out among the rest.

Shawn Mathai said...

The Super Bowl ads are an vindictive scheme that mainly causes the audience, like us, to be fooled into their products and their trickery. However, the three ads that I particularly enjoyed was the Bud Light with the dog commercial, the Doritos commercial (all of them), and "The Force" from Volkswagen. I mainly enjoyed these commercials because they got my attention with humor and stupidity. The main one that made me eager to buy the product were the Doritos commercials because it got me believing the possibilities of the power of Doritos chips. I know its ridiculous but those chips really set out a "need" feeling for me.

Nick Zuiker said...

I loved almost all of the commercials ranked 1 through 10 with some other commercials here and there as well. My favorites, first, second, and third respectively, were the Volkswagen "The Force" commercial, the Coca-Cola border patrol commercial, and the house-keeping Doritos commercial. A Volkswagen being out of my current student budget, I would have to say the Coca-Cola looks most promising to me. The Doritos look tasty but the taste/(desire to have some) is not emphasized as much as in the Coca-Cola commercial.

Khiere Simmons said...

The Doritos was by far the funniest commercial, but was even more eyecatching was the price for such advertisement. The sheer price should tell anyone that the nation's attention of the masses is clearly directed towards the most trivial of things.
